The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service mobilised retained firefighters from Cowes to reports of a van on fire in the early hours of Monday morning.
1 appliance was mobilised to the scene at 00:36 where a Ford Transit had caught light and was well ablaze.
A covering jet alongside 2 sets of breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet were used to extinguish the fire, with the flames causing extensive damage to the front end and cab of the vehicle.
A thermal imaging camera was also used to check the extinguished van for any further hotspots.
According to Cowes Fire Station, most of the equipment in the rear of the van was salvaged.
