Ryde Timebank’s first-ever coffee morning, held last Friday, has been hailed a resounding success!
Members had the chance to discuss recent offers and exchanges within the Timebank, sparking lively conversations about how to continue supporting one another through the timebanking community. Members also chatted through group suggestions which included setting up a walking group (dogs welcome), which could be a great way for Timebanking members to get to know each other better.
The morning was filled with inspiration, cooperation, and a strong sense of community support. The positive turnout has meant that the next coffee morning is already planned for early December.
Liz from Ryde Timebank says:
“It was heartwarming to see so many familiar faces and to welcome new members as we gathered over tea, coffee, and conversation to share ideas and plans for the future.
“A special thank you goes to those who brought along their homemade cakes, which were enjoyed by everyone. If you missed them, be sure to check out the pictures on our Facebook page! Thank you again to everyone who attended. For those who couldn’t join us this time, we look forward to seeing you at our next gathering!”
For those who may not know, Timebanking is a unique way to give and receive help. For every hour you spend sharing your skills, hobbies and knowledge, you earn a time credit that can be exchanged for time from another member who has a different interest to yourself to help where you need or to learn a new skill. The beauty of Timebanking is that all contributions are valued equally, no matter the task—whether it’s gardening, offering advice or giving companionship every effort is appreciated and celebrated.
