Flying medics from the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) were scrambled to an ongoing medical emergency in East Cowes this morning (Thursday).
Following their recent re-location to a new base at Southampton Airport, it didn’t take long for the helicopter to reach the Island, landing next to the park off Beatrice Avenue.
Once they had touched down, flying doctors made the short journey up Victoria Grove to the poorly patient on Coburg Court.
They joined several Isle of Wight Ambulance Service resources on scene, including a critical care paramedic.
After around 45-minutes on scene, the helicopter lifted off and headed back toward the mainland. They didn’t convey a patient.
