23-year-old Cayliam Marly Sheen is the third man to be charged in relation to an incident at Oak Vale in Oakfield earlier this month.
As previously reported by Island Echo, Police were called at just before 23:00 on Monday 3rd May to a disturbance in the street in Oak Vale involving a group of men.
It was alleged some members of the group were carrying weapons which subsequently led to 25-year-old Cameron Wayne Baker and 27-year-old Connor Anthony Pattrick being charged with a number of offences, including the possession of a harpoon, chainsaw and stun gun.
Now, following further enquiries by Hampshire Constabulary, a third man has been charged in relation to the incident. Cayliam Marley Sheen, 23, of Elm Grove in Newport, has been charged with affray and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place – namely a chainsaw.
He is has been remanded in custody to appear before Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court later this morning (Thursday).
UPDATE @ 12:35 – Mr Sheen appeared before Magistrates this morning and has been remanded in custody to appear before the Isle of Wight Crown Court on 7th June.
