A chainsaw ? Welcome to sunny Ryde
Welcome to the residents of sunny Freshwater and Sandown.
This Island is falling apart! We now have GANG fights with children, weapon wielding drug addled morons trying to kill each other and streets almost ‘no go’ areas due to the threats of violence! It is time that both the CPS and the Courts started to give something back by prosecuting and jailing these idiots for a long time! Are we going to fall into gang run areas like major cities or are we going to press for genuine punishment?
If someone goes out with a weapon then they intend to take a life or drastically change one so any offence involving a weapon should carry a mandatory life sentence as far as I’m concerned.
Looks like the lovely, quiet, peaceful, idyllic IOW is turning into a mini mainland. With the drug problem, violence, drunks on the streets causing antisocial behaviour, the ever increasing HMO’s popping up everywhere in quiet residential streets, where is it all coming from? Mainland trouble makers? NO THANK YOU IOW COUNCIL, leave them on the other side of the Solent.
Wow so you believe all problems on the island come from the mainland and aren’t homegrown
It comes from both, the island is a right mess,it also stems from families moving over here from the towns and cities to have a better quality of life, unfortunately they and their kids especially have an attitude that they are something special and hard, they should embrace the island and the locals or f off back home!
This Island really is getting out of control, until the sentences handed down are looked at things will get even worse.
When the Police arrest these utter morons they still get away with light sentences.
Just where is the deterrent? How bad does it have to get?
Lives are on the line, it could be you or me next, just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
What is the world coming to…
All this complaining by the public, if you don’t like what is happening start helping the police
instead of burying your head in the sand .How many times do people see something going on
and say nothing. Stand up and be counted for once you cowardly lot
The courts do nothing. Wait until the mainland gangs arrive, these will make ours look like go-gooders.
Those currently safe from such will soon find the Island is a very small place, so Seaview, Bembridge etc ‘keep em peeled’
This island is full of far left snowflakes, they will only make stupid ignorant excuses for the lowlife…
You will get no help from them, only encouragement for the scum..
Way more liberal right wingers sitting in there large houses whinging about how bad the island has become but still voting for the same useless Conservative councillors and Mp who do nothing about law and order or anything else come to that
From personal experience the police do didly squat when approached and are selective on what they will deal with. Like many other aspects of the island absolutely useless I cannot wait to get back to the mainland
I cannot wait to return to the mainland after finding it difficult to get help and left feeling I have wasted my time and theirs. I could write quite a bit listing examples. Intervention can work as prevention but no it is overlooked. Then these youngsters just get worse. So yes I have tried and I do not feel safe due to the area I live in and the lack of Council and Police support. My best option is to leave.
These must be the feral parents of the feral youths involved the other evening.
Yes the island is getting worse but its not just here it’s the whole of the uk a new evil generation has been developed and they our running their lives like characters on gangster video games the problem won’t get solved unless the government get tougher i may sound like an old fart now but I’ve said it before and I’ll say again bring back national service.
Did you do National Service yourself?
But wouldn’t national service make them worse? How to fight probably and how to use knifes and guns ?
National service instills a sense of respect for others.
I agree about a new breed running our lives.. Lots of these are youths under 18 years so perhaps the prosecution age should be looked into and lowered urgently. I also think lack of parenting plays a part and of course history repeating itself i.e.. feral children of the feral
What I would like to know is where the heck did all these low lifes come from?. The Island never used to be like this. And how much were the council paid to bring them all to the Island? We know they did, how do you think the new pan estate was filled up so fast, and Ryde is going downhill fast, they brought them all from the Birmingham area in coach loads even advertised the sunny IOW as the place to go if your on the dole! Yes really!. Does anyone know which of the councillors agreed this? And what party are they candidates for??? I would like to know this before I give my vote tomorrow, wouldn’t you?.
Yep, you are right,it should be that everyone that comes to the island has the same core values that has made this place special, instead they are bringing all there inner city mentality with them(oh it is boring), f off back home then!!!! And leave the Alamo alone!!!!
Sorry you think its all mainland, I am from Birmingham and I have lived on the island for over 35 years, I don’t go out robbing or fighting, If you look at the courts you will see most people in trouble are island names, So don’t tar us from Birmingham with the same brush, Yes the courts should lock up all people that are violence for a long time, And that includes islanders,
O IT’S ONLY PEOPLE FROM BIRMINGHAM CAUSE TROUBLE, I don’t think so as a mainlander and now a island resident for over 30years I don’t go beating people up or robbing, Don’t tar us all with the same brush,
