Time is running out for Island residents to have their say in this year’s budget survey. There are just days left for people to give their views before the consultation closes on Friday 26th January. The council is asking for views on how it spends its money to help set a balanced budget with increasing costs and rising demand for its services. Once the consultation closes, public feedback will be used to help inform discussions when the draft budget is debated at Cabinet and Full Council next month. The survey, which launched on 18th December, is available online at https://www.iow.gov.uk/council-and-councillors/transparency-our-data/our-finances/2024-2025-budget-consultation/. Councillor Phil Jordan, council leader, has said:
“I would like to thank everyone who has taken part in the survey so far. “Your responses will really help us to make some important decisions about where we should focus our spending for the year ahead, and help us shape the council services which so many people rely on. “The last few years have been financially tough, and recent circumstances beyond our control have placed additional pressures on everyone, with councils across the country facing sometimes challenging decisions to help stabilise financial positions. “If you haven’t done so already, I’d urge you to take just a few minutes and complete our online survey before the 26th January deadline.”

Why would we? Utterly pointless.wont listen anyway. They’ll still waste OUR money regardless of what US the cash cows want done with it!
Start by reducing Council tax.
In the survey there is no option to reduce council tax. There is an option to keep council tax unchanged which I imagine many people will choose. I did. But even if the vast majority choose this, they would still ignore it.
They wont listen, council tax will still go up,and the clowns will still give themselves a pay rise,w⚓️,s
Consultation within the isle of wight council, means we have made our decisions but we have to be seen to play nicely with the voters.
You cannot put IWC & Consultation in the same sentence , they ignore public opinion .. and carry on regardless .. Yarmouth school !! Remember .. and still no disclosure of a decision on the land .. so when do the developers put spades in the ground ..
