Motorists are experiencing delays on The Downs Road near the former Hare and Hounds pub this lunchtime (Monday) after a tractor partially spilt its load of hay onto the carriageway.
Despite the spillage, the road at Downend remains open to traffic, although drivers are being warned to expect delays while the clean-up continues.
Other local farmers have arrived at the scene to help clear the hay from the road and move the obstruction as quickly as possible.
Motorists are advised to approach the area with caution and allow extra time for their journeys until the carriageway has been fully cleared.
Is this an omen?
Change Hare and Hounds name to Load of Hay and maybe the pub’ll open.
Was it over loaded hence the accident.

It could so easily have been a fatal accident if they had fallen on a car.

I was waiting in a queue to turn at the junction. It was clear that the bales on the original trailer were unsecured. At the time I was there, another tractor was re-loading the original trailer.
Tonight on my way home , there remain some bales near to the traffic lights box that was damaged before. Thankfully that box wasn’t damaged again
Thank goodness for that, the Numpties on the island
don’t have a clue how to repair traffic lights
their speciality is driving into them.

Buddy of mine got fined £100 for carrying loose load of aggregate in flatbed transit under “it should’ve been netted”. Don’t understand why farmers are under a different set of rules, this should’ve been strapped down.
