A 16-year-old boy from the Isle of Wight who was arrested on suspicion of terror offences back in July has been bailed for another 3 months.
As first reported by Island Echo, detectives and other specialist officers from Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE), supported by Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary, descended on the West Wight and the Newport areas on 26th July.
The youth was arrested on suspicion of dissemination of terrorist publications under Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006 and collection of information under Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
Despite investigations leading Counter Terrorism Police to the lad’s door, no charges were made and he was bailed until October.
Now, it has been confirmed that the 16-year-old remains on bail until 25th January next year.
The investigation continues.
