A suspected drug dealer has been arrested by Police following an early morning raid in Sandown today (Sunday).
Officers executed a warrant at an address on Avenue Road – near to College Close – shortly before 08:30 this morning.
A 43-year-old man from Sandown was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of heroin.
He has been released under investigation.

Well done to the Police. Drug dealing is a vile trade.
We need much harsher sentences for dealers and the public need to pass on information to the police until those tempted to get involved get the message that what they are doing is not going to be tolerated.
There should also be routine checks at ferries using dogs and stop and search , along with ANPR cameras to gather intelligence on suspect vehicles
This is costly, but so is the havoc wreaked on the victims and society in general.
Report the dealers.
I totally agree with your post. Yes, it is costly to have drugs dogs at the ports and ANPR cameras, BUT remember, we are part of Hampshire Police force now and given the amount of drugs on the IOW, I think more should be done at the ports to stop the filthy dealers bringing the sh*tty stuff here.
