Shanklin Chine is set to reopen early for February half-term, offering families on the Isle of Wight discounted entry – despite a forecast of wet and windy weather.
The Chine is reopening early for the February break, with specially priced daytime tickets available at just £5 for adults and £3.50 for children – offering families an affordable outdoor adventure from 10:00 to 16:00 (last admission 15:30) between 13th and 22nd February.
Carved over thousands of years by mother nature, the historic gorge remains one of the Island’s most enchanting attractions. Visitors can wander through lush greenery, alongside tumbling waterfalls and dramatic rock formations, before emerging to breath-taking coastal views.
But the Chine is far more than just a scenic walk.
Steeped in history, the site has played host to everything from exotic plant collections and rare wildlife to daring smugglers and even secretive World War II operations. It is a place where natural beauty and Island heritage intertwine. And 2026 promises to be an exciting year for the popular attraction.
Plans are already underway for increased live music, brand-new seasonal events, and a refreshed offering at the much-loved Tea Gardens. Down at the Fisherman’s Cottage, visitors can look forward to new chefs, new menus and new flavours, adding even more reason to return throughout the year.
For locals and visitors alike, Shanklin Chine remains one of those places that simply has to be experienced to be fully appreciated.
So while the skies may be grey this half-term, the Island’s oldest attraction is ready to welcome you back.
