Briddlesford Road on the outskirts of Wootton is to be closed for around 6 weeks to allow for gas repairs.
From 20th February to 7th April, the busy road will be closed between Blacklands Lane and Wootton Common so that SGN can replace a section of the gas main.
The actual works will take place on a section of the road between Blacklands Lane and Briddlesford Lodge Farm.
Pedestrian and cycle access will be maintained, whilst vehicular access to the farm itself will be from the Wootton end.
SGN has apologised for any inconvenience caused.

They only just put in large sections of gas pipe,,, What gives ?
So, will Backlands Lane still be open? If not why not?
Probably not. Just because
Like your name you only read, ARTHUR REEDER, ARTHUR STORY, its closed from Blacklands lane, hope that helps you.
Surely it’s not necessary to completely close the road. It would not have been closed when the gas main was originally installed. No doubt its to make room for all the vehicles, probably one per man, causing more congestion than the actual work.
Times were probably a little different when it was originally installed..which is likely to be early 1900’s so not too many HGV’s for starters, or even much of a road I’d imagine. Get real
