A 59-year-old man from Lake remains under investigation on suspicion of murder following the death of an elderly woman in Ryde earlier this year.
It was back in June that Police were called to a property in Wood Street, Ryde after concerns were raised about the circumstances of the death of an 84-year-old woman – concerns raised by attending paramedics.
A murder investigation was subsequently launched by Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary and, just 24 hours later, made an arrest.
Officers descended on Newcomen Road in Lake where their suspect – a 59-year-old man – was detained on suspicion of murder.
He was held in custody for questioning but was released on bail until 15th September, with that bail now extended until December.
Investigations continue.
