A road in East Cowes is blocked this evening (Easter Sunday) following a road traffic collision which has seen a car career into a wall. The Nissan – travelling up Cambridge Road towards Old Road – has clipped a parked vehicle and ended up colliding with a wall at the front of property on the opposite side of the road. It is believed the incident occurred at around 15:30, with Police and paramedics quickly on scene. Island Echo understands that at least 1 casualty was taken to St Mary’s Hospital. The road remains closed for the time being whilst Bartletts – who are on scene with a large recovery vehicle – work to lift the stricken vehicle from the scene. UPDATE @ 17:45 – The incident has been cleared.

Drivers license retesting should be mandatory at 70
So where does it state the age of the driver?
Twat you really are a massive twat..
YAWN! same old, same old!
Let me guess some old fluff forgot where’s the brakes are
Normally the old fluffs would have done more damage and more time wasting and more hassle for everyone
Hope you get a puncture in your mobility scooter when your time comes.
Chris you old fluff please stop driving
These are the pathetic spewings of yet another cretin troll using my name.
Cripes, we are not even safe in our gardens anymore. So amazed that pedestrians on the pavement aren’t as nervous as birds nowadays, Who needs ally akbar, when local drivers are at the wheel.
Bollards need installing along many Island roads, also speed humps etc
Average island driving ability
20mph is plenty, it’s the only way to decrease accidents on this
Isle.
Don’t be ridiculous. I can run faster than that.
London and Wales have implemented 20mph
proof it can be done.
best you move to london or wales then paul
What a deranged plonker you are..
London and Wales have implemented 20mph

Collides “with”
Crashes “into”
Old Rd still has no pavement for pedestrians nor a crossing near Millfield Ave where kids walk to school.
But don’t worry, at least where we have pavements, we also have cars running on them.
I’m sure though when a kid gets killed during a walk to school, we’ll be ready to send condolences here straight away!
Island drivers are mostly idiots.
I take it that you’re not a driver then.
I’m in the minority who can drive well.
Self praise is absolutely no recommendation.
It can’t be a young chav because it would have been a black hatchback and ended up on its roof .
Old farts David just old farts
You can drive round that, surely?
