Over this past month, The Orchard Care Centre in Newport has welcomed a wide range of entertainment and activities which their residents have thoroughly enjoyed.
Residents were treated to a visit from Annie, a wonderful 1950’s singer who entertained the locals with old-time music from years gone by, a concert that saw many residents sing along and enjoy the vocals.
Last week the centre was visited by Vectis Heritage Car club, who allowed residents to sit in, and admire their well-kept and preserved vintage cars, with 1 lucky resident allowed to take a short passenger drive in 1 particular car, with all residents getting the chance to have their pictures taken in and out of the cars.
The Wight Diamond Marching Band came and played for the residents, with music is a great therapy for those at the care home.
The band’s musical talents were greatly received by all residents who sat together in the lounge to enjoy the marvellous tunes.
By offering a varied life enrichment programme, Orchard Care Centre helps keep residents active and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.

Good for them……yawn.
My husband’s care home does nothing. All sitting around like robots. I am the one that has to take him out.
