Works to repair steps leading up to a bridge on a footpath in Whippingham are to take place, but when exactly is still unknown. It’s thought that the steps to the bridge – located on the N122 footpath between Island Harbour and The Folly – have been moved by recent high tides. They have been completely ripped from their footings and destroyed in the process. Island Echo understands that a district steward from Island Roads visited the site on Wednesday, but it is unclear when exactly the works will take place. Access along the footpath remains open, but those using the bridge are advised to do so with caution.

Odd how years ago a double-barreled surname indicated that you were posh, whereas nowadays it is a label for low-life scum. The double-barreled forename plus double-barreled surname combination is the ultimate scumbag tag.

There are now 9.3 million working age adults in the UK who do not work. Some can’t and that is fair enough but most of them can and they cost us a fortune.

I wonder why these 2 Bob jockeys only appear after the builders have been in for their tea and newspapers?
Total cowards and a waste of space.
Over to you scumbags, come and have a go when the builders are around…I dare you.
The builders! You seem to be confusing builders with cage fighters.
And that’s what you see when you look in the mirror? Ahh no that’s a rumour I can squash happily.. Will let the builders know you think fondly of them.
The builders, would put them deep into the foundations where they belong….
Trying to copy the Eritreans on the mainland.
