Red Funnel has cancelled at least 2 sailings on the East Cowes-Southampton car ferry service today (Monday) due to a technical issue.
The 10:30 sailing from Southampton and the 12:00 from East Cowes have both been scrubbed.
It is currently unclear exactly what the technical issue is and whether there will be any further timetable disruption.
Red Funnel apologises for the inconvenience caused to your journey.

NB to all those that slate Wightlink for their cancellations….
This seems the normal for the island ferry service
So good to see how this disrupts the Island economy, so good to see how it ruins peoples plans, so good to see how complacent we have become to poor service, so good to see how we accept being delayed. At least nobody mentioned the idea of a fixed link as a possible viable solution to aiding the Islands economy, I guess because it is a bad idea that people have freedom to make plans that do not get disrupted, that bushiness cost are reduced and not inconvenienced due to engineering not being able to attend when essential plant breaks down, or materials delivered to meet dead line that have the double jeopardy due to the poor service given by an out of date link transport system.
Clearly anyone who puts a ‘thumb down’ to JDF’s comment is either deluded, desperate to see the island fail in virtually every socio-economic capacity, or they work for Red Funnel…
Or of course all the three above options combined.
Rare…..
Carl!!
Sore loser!!
Nuff said !!
Probably because the sailings weren’t full enough. They can do what they like when they like with no repercussions. Fixed link now!
This always seems to happen on a semi regular basis with no explanation of exactly what the technical issue is.
