Isle of Wight dance music fans will enjoy a rare chance to see co-founder of The Prodigy, Leeroy Thornhill, headline a night of club classics and rave anthems at Strings in Newport, kickstarting the Easter weekend.
As part of The Prodigy, Leeroy toured the globe, performing at some of the worlds biggest music festivals. He will be headlining the annual Easter Old Skool Club Classics night at Strings on Thursday 17th April.
Leeroy’s set will be packed full of the Prodigy tunes that defined an era of club culture, from warehouse raves to headlining Glastonbury. The event will see Strings transformed into an indoor rave, complete with Lasers and stunning production.
Expect all the hits, including Firestarter, Breathe, No Good (Start The Dance), Everybody In The Place, Out Of Space and Charlie. Support comes from DJ Omar, who is also promoting the event.
DJ Omar says:
“I’m so pleased to welcome Leeroy Thornhill to the Island.
“The Prodigy’s tunes are absolute anthems and albums like Music For The Jilted Generation and The Fat Of The Land are incredible. Anyone who has seen The Prodigy live at the Isle of Wight Festival or Bestival will know how powerful these tracks are.
“Our Old Skool Party night is now fully established as the official start to the Easter Weekend, and we want to see everybody in the place on Easter Thursday!”
Leeroy’s time with The Prodigy is documented in his recent book, “Wildfire: My Ten Years Getting High in the Prodigy”.
Leeroy returned to the UK in 2021 after a long stint in Berlin, and he’s a much sought after DJ, who will take Strings to another dimension in April.
