The troublesome car park at Firestone Copse near Havenstreet has finally been resurfaced.
Earlier this week the car park to the woodland beauty spot was closed to allow for the notoriously pot-holed parking area to be resurfaced.
New gravel was laid down throughout whilst the biggest potholes – near the entrance to the copse – have been filled in and levelled out.
Bushes and hedges in the surrounding area have been trimmed and cut to give the area a fresh and more vibrant look.
Due to the nature of the resurfacing however, the fix will most likely be a temporary one as opposed to a more permanent solution some had hoped for.
Heavy Goods Vehicles are still busy in the area carrying out felling works.

Dog excreta filled bags will add extra charm to a family woodland walk as they hang like ripe fruits from the bushes, shrubs and trees as we go to see the bluebells, wood anemones and orchids, dodging the minefield near the car park of ‘unbagged’ dogs more liquidy sticky business.
Add the condoms, Mac D’s boxes, cups and wipes and scattered beer tins in the car park and one knows civilisation is not too far away.
At least the pot holes slowed down those who rag their cars around, doing wheel spins to ‘impress’ the dim seat cover adjacent to them.
I didn’t find it much different to Gt Preston Road.
Less people parking on double yellow lines though.
Well move then, or won’t the state fund another free home UNLESS you pay up what you owe on the current house?
I am sure you will be unlikely to be missed by no 90 or anyone else for that matter. S.A calling?
now that the dogging site has nice smooth area ha ha
Maybe now sort priority and sort the main roads as are very dangerous and accidents are waiting to happen
Does a car park now get priority over the roads on the rest of the island?
Must be April fools day
Just the rest of the shit roads to do now all over the island…naa never happen.
Do you people not realise, they are not going to go and resurface the roads? Its not Island Roads who done it now is it? Fools.
Another case of the YIMBYs destroying our green island! Less construction not more!
