Sandown’s The Caulkheads is to change hands later this month, it has been announced.
As of 31st March, the establishment – on Avenue Road – will no longer be associated with or connected to Brading’s The Bugle Inn.
Taking to Facebook to announce the decision, current owners Dan and Jasmine Ashley-Walker said:
“We wish the new owners all the best and want to give a huge shout out to all our customers, and to all the fantastic staff that have worked for us over the last 18 months.”
The pair took over The Caulkheads after a successful period running The Bugle Inn – as reported by Island Echo. The Character Inns Group had previously run the popular family pub for some 8 years.
Another one bites the dust.
Pubs are too expensive thesedays.
No it will be taken over..
Hope it continues to be good ..had a very good meal there last year.
Can’t someone else buy smokin’ jacks and just use it as a home. The place looks like a tip now, run down, not open (gone bust, forced closure, it’s on company house if you want to check.) The car park is an environmental health risk, rubbish everywhere, rats running around, and another fire recently. Another insurance job.
The island is full of insurance jobs.
