Adverse weather meant that Yarmouth RNLI were tasked to assist in a double medical transfer in the early hours of this morning (Sunday).
The volunteer crew were awoken at 02:45 by HM Solent Coastguard paging to assist in transferring 2 critical patients from St Mary’s Hospital via Cowes to Southampton as result of poor weather preventing the helicopter from doing so.
The Severn Class All Weather Lifeboat 17-25 Eric and Susan Hiscock left Yarmouth and headed towards Cowes to rendezvous with the Island Ambulance Service and Ventnor Coastguard at Trinity Landing. Once on scene the teams worked together to carefully transfer the casualties and equipment from the ambulances to the ALB.
With the stretchers safely secured inside and the medical teams onboard the ALB departed Cowes at best speed to meet the awaiting ambulances at Southampton.
The ALB was met by the ambulance service and Hillhead Coastguard teams to again safely transfer the 2 casualties and medical teams safely off the boat and into the awaiting ambulance for the casualties to be taken for their lifesaving treatment.
Finally, the lifeboat then returned to station and was ready for service once again at 06:45.

Now that is what I call “Heroes”. Not football players. Good on them all that were involved.
Brilliant, all weather’s and the crews are ready to go wherever needed. As an island we need to support the RNLI, whenever we can. Stay safe all
Yes, just a shame that they tarnish their reputation when they act as a taxi service for illegal immigrants.
So what? They let them drown?
You are filth.
Why be so vile what if you got stuck out at sea who u call g filth the people risking their lives to save others? I’ve been saved when I was suicidal can’t thank RNLI enough show some respect who ever u are ur a Mooron n not gonna know how to tie a mooring on.
Not very nice Catherine…these volunteers save lives at sea, they do not judge or make decisions based on politics. You sound like that awful Farage chap, full of hate and vitriol.
I agree that’s upset me that comment how it’s allowed to even be here when many of us have lost lives n I almost died why call RNLI filth how dare they unless they’re just lacking attention that can be sorted I know lots of big hairy bikers and fishermen if this keyboard warrior wants to slag off RNLI can it even swim?
Legends deserve medals in this weather n hope the patients are okay too

Thanku from us all “more than words can ever say”! ❤️Without the lifeboat crew and our amazing NHS it would have been a very different outcome. X
Thank you to all involved, the patience both received the best possible care under extremely difficult circumstances. Thank you to the lifeboat crew and everyone who took care of us.
