Police will be interviewing the driver of a VW Golf following a crash in Ryde earlier today (Monday) that resulted in a motorcyclist being injured.
As first reported by Island Echo, emergency services were called to High Park Road at 15:30 this afternoon after receiving reports of a collision involving a Yahama motorcycle and a VW Golf car.
The scene was cordoned off whilst paramedics and firefighters treated the rider, who has since been taken to St Mary’s Hospital in Newport.
Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed to Island Echo that a woman – the driver of the car – has been located and although not arrested, she will be interviewed more fully at a later date.
It’s thought that the driver was not with the vehicle when Police first arrived.
The road remains closed as Police continue their investigations and arrange recovery of the vehicles.
