Police have erected a cordon around the entrance to Shanklin Train Station following an incident overnight.
A large area immediately outside the station building has been cordoned off with officers guarding the scene.
Island Echo understands the incident occurred late last night (Monday) or during the very early hours of this morning, with Police remaining at the station yard throughout the night.
A medical glove and what appears to be spots of blood are located within the cordon.
Island Line train services are continuing as normal between Ryde and Shanklin with passengers being welcomed onto the platform via the side entrance.
Hampshire Constabulary has been approached for a statement.
UPDATE @ 11:52 – British Transport Police has confirmed that 1 person has died and another has been hospitalised after being taken unwell outside Shanklin Train Station.
