Hampshire Constabulary’s ongoing commitment to reducing the supply of drugs on the Isle of Wight has led to a number of raids being carried out over the past week.
The force is working to target those responsible for the supply of Class A and Class B drugs, whilst also minimising the risks to the Island community.
Earlier today a warrant was executed at a flat in East Hill Road in Ryde where wraps of suspected class A drugs were seized. A 47-year-old man from Ryde was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A Drugs, as previously reported by Island Echo. He remains in custody at this time.
Yesterday (9th June) a warrant was executed in St John Road, Ryde as part of an investigation into the supply of drugs. A 46-year-old woman from Ryde has been served a summons for possession of a class B drug.
3 individuals were arrested in Oakfield on Monday when 2 warrants were executed on High Street and Harding Road. A 32-year-old woman, a 29-year-old man and a 14-year-old girl were all arrested on suspicion of drugs supply offences.
Last Friday a warrant was executed at an address in Church Road, Wootton. A 30-year-old man from Wootton was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, although he has since been released under investigation.

My grandson hasn’t heard if the teacher in ryde is still growing in his garage. If anyone knows for sure I hope they tell the policeman as its not right someone like that being involved in mind bending substances when they are teaching children. He should be made an example of bert says.
Why have you not handed his name over to the police ?, at least it can be investigated.
And if found to be true, action can be taken.
There is no point writing on here, and saying i hope they tell the Police.
Do the right thing and tell them. 😉
Bert, my own bert isn’t a supergrass, and he says we might be targeted or our grandon might be. I feel it will be hard on the teachers wife and two children, as at least the kiddies are innocent but their dad will lose his job.
Or would the police just warn him then?
Hope they come to Ventnor soon, can’t go anywhere without the stench of weed. Got 4 dealers within a stones throw of me, don’t even try to hide it now as they know there are no police to see them do it.
Report these skanks. If you know the exact addresses you can report them via crimestoppers anonymously. If you don’t, they will keep selling it.
Anonymous? I don’t think so.
and what happens when that information gets down to local level? I’ve seen what happens and I have zero trust. Small place the island and a bit too cosy sometimes on who gets to hear what. The little cannabis factory set up near me recently is blatantly obvious and the place is historically know by the local plod. Nothing is done!
your report is anonymous, however, those growing and/or selling will know that it could only be a handful of people who knew what they were up to and as such will whittle it down until they get to one or two and then target them.
Meanwhile the suits grow it in labs
Well done to the police great job, it’s a shame the courts don’t do their bit, and back them up by doing a good job.
A Slap on the wrist is not a deterrent, and any fine will be paid out of the Drug Money.
Lock them up for a long time, then ban them from the Island.
Good job. Too many drug dealers on the island peddling this crap. Well done to our police force.
Perhaps folk could just give a name of them not growing.
That way, the houses left would be the ones who are growing.
Then we couldn’t be targeted and Jason says so many are growing now in Ryde and Haylands that the two lists might be as long as one another. Jason is a bright boy. His mates told him about the teacher growing these boys are honest lads not perfect but not liars. Helps me get the washing in the other day, not many would do that.
