Police clad in riot gear raided a flat in Ryde this morning (Wednesday) as part of the continuing crackdown on the supply of drugs on the Isle of Wight.
Several officers from the Ryde Neighbourhoods Policing Team, Response and Patrol D Shift and the Joint Operations Unit descended on Leavington House on East Hill Road at just before 08:30 and used a battering ram to gain access to a residential flat.
The raid was being carried out as part of an ongoing operation to tackle the supply of Class A drugs on the Isle of Wight.
The property was empty when police arrived and no arrests have been made.
This latest raid comes just 4 weeks after a similar raid on another flat at Leavington House.

I am so pleased that the police are doing this
The house was empty and no arrests made? Top policing by Hampshire’s finest there.
It’s a house made up of flats, top research Adam, u must be island echo’s finest comment writter. Do you suggest they station an officer outside the flat overnight to ensure no person leaves. People come and go in these places and therefore it was simply unfortunate the place was empty. The plod are being proactive in trying to disrupt dealers on the island. Show some support.
The people due to be arrested left 20 minutes before in a red car. Doubt if they will get very far.
how did the people know the police were coming?
Please keep going on this – these low lives need to be brought to justice!!! THANK YOU!
