Ventnor was awash with colour, music and carnival spirit last night (Wednesday) as the town’s main carnival brought crowds onto the streets.
The procession got underway at 19:00, with colourful floats, marching bands and community groups making their way through Ventnor.
Spectators lined the streets to watch the procession pass, with plenty of elaborate costumes and decorated entries adding to the spectacle.
Earlier on Wednesday, youngsters had their chance to take centre stage with the Children’s Carnival, which set off at 12:00.
The carnival action is not over yet, as Ventnor’s Illuminated Carnival is set to take place this Saturday (15th August), bringing another colourful procession to the town from 21:00.
