Lloyds Pharmacy in Newport is to close soon with Day Lewis Pharmacy set to take over the Pyle Street Store.
The expected new proprietor, Day Lewis, already has a branch in the town and 1 in Carisbrooke, as well as those in Cowes, Lake, Shanklin, Niton and Wootton.
This news follows the announcement that the pharmacy in Sainsbury’s, also Lloyds, is to close soon amid company-wide changes to its operation amid market conditions.
Once the change has been completed, there will just be 2 Lloyds on the Island with 1 in East Cowes and the other in Ryde.
It is currently unknown as to whether the jobs of those at Lloyds will be lost as a result.

they wouldn’t let me pay my gas bill in there. i told them the other lloyds bank i used was shut, but no help at all. me son had to do it in the end on an internet . it befuddled me how.
There will be a much better service from Day Lewis. Good news for patients.
I hope they keep the staff.
We live in hopes of a vast improvement in customer service then
Brilliant news. On the rare occasions I have to shop in ‘Boots’ I can’t get out of there fast enough, because of their blaring pop ‘music.’
In Day Lewis blissfully quiet.
