An injured pedestrian is being tended to by emergency services in Binstead this evening (Saturday).
Police and paramedics are on scene at Ringwood Road, where the casualty is laying in the road.
The incident has occurred just off of the mini roundabout on Binstead Road – the main road between Ryde and Newport.
Ringwood Road is currently closed in both directions whilst emergency services tend to the injured individual, who is being immobilised and placed on a stretcher.
It is thought that the male has escaped any serious or life-threatening injuries.
UPDATE @ 18:40 – The pedestrian is being conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital for further assessment.
Island Echo is told that the person fell in the road in front of a Mitsubishi Mirage, which stopped to provide assistance. It was initially feared the pedestrian had been hit by the vehicle.
