Isle of Wight paedophile Peter Trayner, who was described in court as a high-risk offender, has admitted breaching the requirements of the Sex Offenders Register for the fourth time.
Trayner, 75, of Queens Road in Freshwater, appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court today (Friday) charged with failing to comply with notification requirements of the sex offenders register.
The pensioner, who previously worked as a civil servant, was sentenced to 29 months in prison back in February 2017 after more than 700,000 indecent images were found on his computer.
As part of his conviction, he was ordered to complete an annual registration at Newport Police Station, something he failed to do in April 2025.
The court heard how Trayner arrived at the police station on 28th April, 2 days later than required, believing he was 1 day early for his annual registration.
Defending, Oscar Vincent, told the court that Trayner had described himself as someone who is ‘elderly and suffers from lapses in memory’. Trayner, addressing the court himself, admitted his record of compliance with the order was ‘not good, but none of it has been deliberate’.
Trayner was also convicted back in 2022 after yet more indecent images were found in his possession. On that occasion, he was handed a community order. Since being forced to sign the sex offenders register back in 2017, this is the forth time that Trayner has breached his notification requirements.
The case against Trayner – who is subject to not 1 but 2 community orders – has been adjourned until 13th June at the Isle of Wight Crown Court.
How many paedophiles can you fit on an Island? As many as who want to relocate here. Paedophile heaven.
Time for prison this time
Castration is the answer and would be a great dererent to other perverts if they new this was in store for them ..
put the victims first not the perpetrators.
Vile. Castration doesn’t stop them
thinking and acting like a filthy pervert unfortunately.
There are too many here
“Castration doesn’t stop them thinking and acting….”
can you give any scientifically proven evidence that this is true ?
perhaps (as Terryd suggests) it would act as a deterrent ,.. especially if it was done without anesthetic,.. or with a couple of house bricks…
