A police chase that ended on Alverstone Road has seen the arrest of a male for drug driving, possession of cannabis and possession of an offensive weapon.
The 27-year-old was seen in the Bembridge area at around 15:00 today (Thursday), when concerns were raised with Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary over the man possessing an offensive weapon, namely a knuckle duster.
A spokesperson for the force confirmed that following the initial report, officers located the male, who was driving a Skoda Fabia in Alverstone, and entered a pursuit.
The car was eventually stopped outside Queen Bower Dairy, where officers found the man of no fixed abode to be drug driving and in possession of cannabis.
Following his arrest, the vehicle was inspected by Road Traffic Policing Officers before being recovered by a Bartletts recovery vehicle.
