The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are responding to a laundry room fire at a care home in Brighstone this afternoon (Tuesday).
2 appliances from Newport and Freshwater have been mobilised to Brighstone Grange Care Home on Pitt Place.
According to fire control, a clothes container has caught light in an outbuilding at the rear of the property.
The alarm was raised at around 16:30.
UPDATE @ 17:20 – The incident has been quickly resolved with the use of 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet and positive pressure ventilation to clear the smoke.
Crews have now stood down from the incident and are returning to station.
Wonder if it was one of those dodgy washing machines or dryers!
