Residents watched the Trooping of the Colour whilst creating some lovely red, white and blue floral arrangements. They went on to create photo collage boards depicting each decade the Queen has been on the throne; they loved sharing memories that the photos evoked, such as the colour of the Queen’s dress in the black and white photos; they joined together to watch the Service of Thanksgiving and sang along to the national anthem. In the afternoon, they sat outside in the garden and created some beautiful ribbon wreaths.
The celebrations culminated in a Jubilee Party for residents and their families. The residents were entertained by David Plummer, who played the saxophone. This was followed by a delicious Afternoon Tea made by Head Chef, Claire Daffern.
General Manager, Kim Fleming, says:
“It has been a privilege to be able to take part in a once in a lifetime event such as this. Our residents have been really involved with every aspect and have had a marvellous weekend.”
Resident, Malcolm, said:
“We did lots of lovely things leading up to our Jubilee Party, and the day itself was perfect!”
Good for them! They always seem to be doing something interesting. 🙂 🙂
Why does my positive comment get down voted? There are some REALLY strange people around lately!
Lol…..
