The Isle of Wight Crematorium is hosting an open day for people to find out much more about the service.
It is also a chance to hear from the staff about how they approach helping families to commemorate the passing of their loved ones and maintaining the site as a memorial to those that have been passed through it.
The open day is being held on Sunday 1st June between 11:00 and 16:30 and visitors will be given tours of the building and grounds and have the chance to ask any questions.
Recent improvements at the crematorium include new bridges in the Woodland Walk, which were damaged during the adverse weather earlier this year. The bridges mean visitors can now walk in areas near the copse that had been blocked off. There will also be an opportunity to see how The Friends of the Crematorium are progressing with the transformation of the pond area into a Japanese style memorial garden for quiet reflection.
The day will conclude with a memorial service which will be held in the crematorium chapel at 16:30 which will be led by Rev. Canon Graham Morris, to give families the opportunity to remember those they have lost.
