It’s the final home match of the season for Newport IW FC as they welcome Sholing FC to St George’s Park for a 19:45 kick-off this evening (Tuesday).
With a gruelling schedule of 7 games in 14 days, Newport will need to be fully focused tonight as they look to put on a top performance for their home fans. A win will put them within 1 point of local rivals Cowes Sports, before the two sides clash for the local derby this Thursday evening at Westwood Park.
Before that, Port face Sholing FC tonight, with “The Boatmen” currently sitting 3rd in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division; Newport sit 11th.
Manager Andy Sampson will need to use all his squad rotation skills, no doubt wanting to make sure he has a fully fit squad for their big Bank Holiday Monday Wessex League Cup Final at the home of Salisbury FC, when they face Team Solent.
