A Newport man has been charged with burglary, theft from a motor vehicle and drug offences following incidents in Newport yesterday (Bank Holiday Monday).
25-year-old Keenan Bradbury, of School Lane in Newport, has been charged with the following:
- Burglary – this follows an allegation of a man entering a house on School Lane in the early hours of Monday morning and stealing items from inside.
- Possession of cannabis.
- Theft from a motor vehicle – this relates to an allegation of the theft of bank cards, a phone and a cordless drill from a vehicle parked on Victoria Road, Newport, overnight on Sunday 2nd January into Monday 3rd January.
Bradbury has been remanded in custody to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday).
UPDATE @ 14:50 – Bradbury has appeared before Magistrates and has been sentenced to 6 months in prison, suspended for 18 months. This will include a drug rehabilitation requirement for 6 months and 20 rehabilitation days.
