A new support group has been set up at Earl Mountbatten Hospice to assist anyone on the Island suffering with Lymphoedema.
Lymphoedema is a painful, long-term condition that causes swelling in the body’s tissues, affecting any part of the body but commonly in the arms or legs.
The new group, which is being run by specialist nurses at Earl Mountbatten, will hold a meeting in the John Cheverton Centre on Wednesday 13th January at 12:00. There is no need to book a place – simply head along on the day.
Patricia Holmes, one of the nurses running the group, said:
“Our support group is open to anyone suffering with Lymphoedema – we know there are likely to be many people on the Island who possibly suffer in silence yet it is a fairly common condition. We are here to provide advice, a friendly face to chat to and for people to meet others who are perhaps going through the same. We are happy to welcome anyone to our meetings – please do come along.”
