The merger between Sovereign and Spectrum Housing Group took another step forward this week as the top leadership team and the name were announced.
The leadership of the new organisation will see Richard Organ (currently Chair of Spectrum) becoming Chair; Ann Santry (currently Chief Executive Officer of Sovereign) becoming Chief Executive Officer and Richard Hill (currently Chief Executive Officer of Spectrum) will become Deputy Chief Executive Officer.
On the basis that the merger proceeds, the combined housing association will operate as Sovereign with maintenance services continuing under the successful Spectrum Property Care brand.
Richard Organ said:
“Bringing Sovereign and Spectrum together is a unique opportunity to build a stronger, more resilient and even more effective organisation. With Ann as the chief executive and with Richard in support, we are fortunate to have two influential and experienced leaders to drive the new organisation forward.”
John Simpson, the current chair of Sovereign will continue leading the Sovereign business until the merger goes ahead, but as both he and Richard Organ are coming to the end of their tenures the process of recruiting a new independent chair is now underway.
Ann Santry said:
“The new organisation will be a stronger social business creating economies of scale, which will allow us to deliver on our commitment to provide local services to our residents and build more homes to help tackle the housing crisis.”
