Police are attending a road traffic collision involving a motorcyclist on Landguard Road in Shanklin this morning (Monday).
The incident, which occurred just before 10:40, has taken place outside the Co-Operative store on a crossroads junction.
Island Echo is told that a male is being tended to in the road close to the zebra crossing. The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are en-route.
Motorists should avoid the area for the time being. Local diversions are in place.
UPDATE @ 11:10 – A second incident has taken place in the area, according to reports. 2 vehicles have collided near to Landguard Holiday Park at Sandy Lane.
UPDATE @ 11:47 – The crash at Landguard Road has now been cleared, according to Southern Vectis.
The motorcyclist is understood to have been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital.
