A fast-growing Mexican restaurant chain is eyeing expansion on the Isle of Wight, with plans to open at least one new site and create around 15 jobs.
Zambrero has appointed a new Development Agent to drive growth across the Isle of Wight, Hampshire and Berkshire as part of wider UK ambitions.
Sumin Lohani will lead efforts to recruit franchise partners across the 3 counties, with a target of opening up to 30 restaurants by 2030. This includes at least one location on the Isle of Wight, with Newport and Ryde identified as possible areas for a new outlet.
The move is expected to bring a mix of full and part-time roles to the Island.
Zambrero offers a range of Mexican-inspired dishes, including burritos, bowls, tacos, nachos and quesadillas, all made using fresh ingredients. The brand is also known for catering to a variety of dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan and Halal options.
Sumin Lohani, Development Agent, has said:
“I am delighted to announce my appointment as a Development Agent for Zambrero.
“This is a unique opportunity for both new and experienced Franchise Partners to join a fast-growing global brand.”
The expansion forms part of Zambrero’s wider UK strategy to open 100 restaurants nationwide by 2030.
Since launching in London in 2021, the brand has grown to 14 locations across the UK. The nearest to the Isle of Wight is in Reading.
At the centre of Zambrero’s model is its ‘Plate 4 Plate’ initiative, which sees a meal donated to someone in need for every burrito or bowl purchased. The scheme has delivered over 100 million meals globally through its charity partnership.

That would be a welcome change to the current offering.
