The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has been tasked to assist with a medical emergency in the West Wight this afternoon (Sunday), as a result of 2 people falling from the sea wall.
Flying doctors were dispatched from their Thruxton base at around 15:00 and have made the journey over the Solent, landing on the beach at Totland at around 15:20.
They are joined at Totland Bay, near The Waterfront, by their blue light colleagues from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service (IOWAS), including an Operational Commander and ann Enhanced Care Paramedic.
It is understood that the 2 casualties involved have fallen from the sea wall.
Paramedics are joined at the scene by The Needles Coastguard Rescue Team, with assistance from Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team called upon.
This is the 2nd time today that the air ambulance has been called to the Island after they assisted Bembridge and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Teams at an incident in Luccombe this morning, as previously reported by Island Echo.
That sea wall is dangerous it seems. Lots of casualties fall off it
Most probably messing about. And not taking notice of their surroundings.

Totland bay is my local beach and if you watch what you’re doing and where you’re walking it’s pretty safe, however there is a lot of work needs doing on all the beach fronts on the island but funding is lacking ☹️
