A man has been taken to hospital with a head injury after falling into the water at Cowes.
Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were called to Shepards Marina off Medina Road at around 13:00 following reports that an individual had entered the water and sustained an injury.
Coastguard Rescue Teams from The Needles and Ventnor were also mobilised to the scene and helped transfer the casualty into the awaiting ambulance.
The male is now being assessed and treated at St Mary’s Hospital, Newport.
It is the third shout of the day for HM Coastguard with a search at Chale early this morning followed by the rescue of a woman and her dog at Gurnard this lunchtime.
If you or someone else is in difficulty on the coast or at sea, or if you spot what you think may be unexploded ordnance, then dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard. Further safety information can be found at https://coastguardsafety.campaign.gov.uk/.
