Police have arrested a man on suspicion of rape following an alleged sexual assault at Thorness Bay during the early hours of this morning (Wednesday).
Officers were called to the beach at Thorness Bay after a woman reported she had been seriously sexually assaulted by a member of the group she was with.
A 24-year-old male from Glasgow has since been arrested on suspicion of raping the woman and remains in custody at this time.
A cordon has been erected around the area as Police work to collect any potential evidence.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary has said:
“We have arrested a man following an incident at Thorness Bay.
“It was reported that in the early hours of this morning (14 July), a woman had been in the company of a group of people when she was seriously sexually assaulted by a member of the group near the beach.
“A 24-year-old man from Glasgow has been arrested in connection with this incident and remains in custody at this time.”




























































































Gosh, how awful for the lady. Thankfully still a rare happening on our Island, but only because the usual culprits are low in number thus far. Let’s hope it stay that way for our women and youngsters here.

bay winner – the guy has been arrested on Suspicion of rape – he has not been charged, nor tried, nor found guilty.
This individual could be wholly innocent of the accusation being made against him – there are sadly, people who make false allegations for a number of reasons.
The truth needs to be established first before social media assumptions of guilt are made.
