A Wiltshire man has been arrested following an alleged assault onboard a Southern Vectis bus in Newport last night (Friday) in which 2 other men suffered injuries. Officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary were called at 23:47 following reports of an assault on a route 8 bus on Furrlongs in Newport. It was reported that 1 man had assaulted 2 other men, causing minor injuries. At the scene, a 39-year-old man from Salisbury, Wiltshire, was arrested on suspicion of assault. The arrested male has subsequently been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.

At least the police bothered to turn up, get assaulted, threatened on a train as a member of staff and they don’t show up
Probably they were shocked that staff had turned up rather than striking or of sick
But if the police received a call about such a matter then they’d reasonably assume it was a hoax? To take it seriously the trains would have to be running and between sickness, strikes, flooding and breakdowns they never are.
