Christ the King College hosted the first EARA conference for Isle of Wight Secondary Schools on Thursday (6th October) joined by staff and student representatives from Cowes Enterprise College, Ryde and Upper Chine School, Medina College, The Bay and Carisbrooke College.
Students learned about Equality and Rights with Minnie Moore a Rights, Diversity and Social Justice Education adviser from Hampshire, as well as hearing feedback from Victoria Paris and Jess Darroll regarding the Isle of Wight Public Health student survey 2021.
Those at the conference were also fortunate enough to have been joined by student representatives from Brighton Hill School in Basingstoke, who shared all of the amazing advocacy work and initiatives they have implemented in their school.
Christ the King College EARA group representatives spoke passionately about their experiences in school and the changes they want to make in order to promote inclusivity.
Daiana Szegedi, Bella McGrory-Patton, Aurora Tout-Walters, Lianne Ponferrada, Emily Kirby and Amy Cox spoke about issues ranging from ableism to racism, with Minnie so impressed that she’s asked them to contribute to her own newsletter in the future.

Just try concentrating on your studies not all this rubbish.
They haven’t learnt that Wokeism creates Racism.
Rubbish being equality? Ah get back under your rock, gammon.
All their studies seem to consist of these days is how to be a wierdo. No hope for the future of the country, or the world come to that.
