The Lord-Lieutenant of the Isle of Wight, Major General Martin White, has taken up a new role as Vice President of local conservation organisation Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.
Major General Martin White was born, raised and educated on the Island. The new role is a chance to bring together his passion for the countryside with his work with local charities.
Major General Martin White, Lord-Lieutenant of the Isle of Wight, said:
“I am absolutely delighted to have been appointed as Vice President for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust. It is an honour to be part of this wonderful organisation that does so much to improve the fortunes of our precious wildlife and to inspire more people to care for the natural environment. I have been hugely impressed with the Trust’s conservation and education projects on the Island and I very much look forward to being involved with this important work over the coming years.”
