Jake Ellis, the Original Isle of Wight Sunglasses Co. founded in 2020, has announced a partnership with local courier Acclaim Isle of Wight.
In agreeing to the deal, it is hoped that Acclaim can provide customers with a faster, greener, and more reliable delivery option while also supporting Island jobs.
This exciting partnership demonstrates the long-term commitment of Jake Ellis to relentlessly provide the best customer experience possible whilst actively championing the Island, supporting Island jobs, and moving towards becoming a planet-friendly carbon-negative organisation by 2025.
The partnership with Acclaim Isle of Wight provides a greener direct delivery service. Orders sent from the Isle of Wight destined for an Island address will remain on the Island to be sorted and then delivered to the customer directly. Other couriers, including the national postal service, sort most, if not all, Isle of Wight mail in Southampton, taking it off the Island to then bring it back over again, adding more miles than necessary to the journey and reducing the number of jobs available on the Island.
Acclaim Isle of Wight sort and deliver Isle of Wight orders without at any point the order leaving the Island, providing a faster, greener, and more reliable service. As well, with the association of the wider Acclaim Logistics network, orders from the Isle of Wight can be reliably delivered next day to customers across the UK and the rest of the world.
Chris Hall, Commercial Director OF Acclaim Logistics, has said:
“We are thrilled to be working with Jake Ellis, doing what we do best by providing convenient, local delivery services on the Island.
“Through our dedicated team of drivers, we are able to offer businesses like Jake Ellis a practical solution for Island deliveries, eliminating the need for goods to travel to the mainland and back through the national postal network. These local delivery options make Acclaim Logistics the most environmentally friendly courier choice for Isle of Wight businesses. We are very much looking forward to continuing our work with Jake, Ellis, and the team.”

So, these sunglasses are made on the Isle of Wight, or are they shipped from there to here only to be shipped from here to there?
Sound expensive to me.
£40/£50 pr, I guess cheaper than some (£250 plus) but I’ll stick to my Poundland one’s as loose them regularly and they do them as easy readers 1.25 % up as well.
Reducing the carbon footprint by importing from China.
That makes sense.
