2 Isle of Wight businesses have come forward to support the Medina Marching Band after the community group fell victim to theft earlier this week.
As previously reported by Island Echo, £250 worth of drum sticks were stolen from the band during St Helens Carnival on Bank Holiday Monday.
Now, 2 generous businesses have each made a donation to the band to pay for replacement sticks, as well as a carry case to store them in.
The first donation came from Ken Beken of Beken of Cowes for the total of £100, closely followed by a £250 donation from Rob Remus of Steam Punk Vape Lounge in Newport.
A spokesperson for Medina Marching Band has said:
“We are so great full for the kind support we have had from across the Island, from other local bands and news coverage. This proves that although something like this has happened, there really is still some good in the world and we can carry on our fundraising efforts to get to London for the Lord Mayors Show in November”.
