Members of Hampshire & Isle of Wight Army Cadet Force were in London representing the Army Cadets on the national stage this Remembrance weekend.
Whilst there were Army Cadets parading at remembrance events across Hampshire and Isle of Wight at a host of well-represented events, a selection of adult volunteers and cadets were also chosen to represent the organisation nationally and make the journey to parade at the Royal Albert Hall for the festival of remembrance on Saturday night along with a march past the Cenotaph in Whitehall on Sunday morning.
Like the many soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines also in attendance, the Army Cadets were impeccably presented and did a great job of representing the Army Cadet Force on the national stage pictured dressed in their No2 uniforms.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight ACF’s, Commandant, Colonel Theresa Farmer said:
“The cadets and instructors of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Army Cadet Force made us very proud in representing the Army Cadet Force nationally with their impeccable turnout and performance both at the Festival of Remembrance and their parade past the Cenotaph which was watched by millions on the BBC on Sunday. Their practice over the last few weeks really showed and they were a credit to us and the organisation as a whole”
The Army Cadet Force is a youth organisation sponsored by the Ministry of Defence, open to young people aged between 12 and 18. Activities include expeditions, adventure training, fieldcraft, shooting, sport, first aid, drill, music and camps.
