Retained firefighters from Freshwater were mobilised to reports of a fire on a farm near Compton earlier this evening (Friday) – but all wasn’t quite as it seemed.
1 appliance was mobilised by fire control at around 19:25 when a member of the public reported seeing ‘large flames’ in the distance.
However, the single crew were able to quickly establish that exterior flood lights on a farm were amplified through the evening mist to appear as a fire.
