40-year-old Daniel Kilshaw, a regular face in the courts, has once again appeared before Magistrates – this time for being in possession of 13 wraps of Class A drugs.
Kilshaw, of no fixed abode, appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with possessing diamorphine (heroin) and crack cocaine.
Ann Smout, prosecuting, explained to the court that Kilshaw had been arrested for unrelated matters and was taken into custody at Newport Police Station. It was here that a search of his person was carried out leading to the discovery of 13 wraps, worth an estimated £130.
Mrs Smout continued by saying that Kilshaw had claimed to have purchased the drugs in Southampton for between £60 and £70, for his own personal consumption.
Previous convictions were then laid out to the Magistrates including shoplifting back in November.
Defending, Barry Arnett said that his client is receiving treatment and is currently taking subetex – used as part of a treatment program for those dependent on opioids. He also made clear that his client intends to move off the Island and get back into accommodation – accommodation he previously lost due to drug use.
Magistrates revoke Kilshaw’s existing community order and made him subject to a new 12-month community order with 30 rehabilitation days included. He must also pay costs of £85 with a £95 surcharge, as well as carrying out drug rehabilitation work.
What weak and pathetic magistrates we have on the island…

IF he pays his fine i wonder where the money will come from…mmmm.
