Members of the Isle of Wight’s lowland search and rescue team, WightSAR, have been deployed to the mainland today (Friday) to assist mainland colleagues as part of the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Gaia Pope.
19-year-old Gaia went missing from Swanage in Dorset on Tuesday 7th November and hasn’t been seen since, prompting a wide-scale investigation to be launched. A total of 3 people have been arrested on suspicion of murder; 2 of which have since been released from Police custody.
Items of women’s clothing – similar to what Gaia was last seen wearing – were found on a cliff path earlier this week, but Gaia is yet to be located.
WightSAR team members are travelling across to the mainland via the Wightlink Yarmouth-Lymington ferry to assist DorSAR in the search operations.
